Not sure what to say?

For a big man, Max was incredibly fast whether playing football or trying desperately to beat me at handball. It could be stated that I technically won most of the time but with his quick wit, it always seemed he won every game! Max indeed was a big man but he had to be to accommodate such a Big Spirit and Big Heart!

Thinking how great it would be to have your commentary on this election, Max. Especially over a wonderful dinner at your favorite Philly hangout. Cheers to you!

Anne, I only just learned from Eli's tribute to his dad in the Philadelphia Bar Reporter that Max passed away. As you know, we were contemporaries in the DA's office. Max was not only the most jovial and wittiest of colleagues, he was also one of the smartest and shrewdest trial lawyers in an office filled with talented people. He had a great knack of connecting with people at their level. And I did have the pleasure of recalling more than once with Max the night in the summer of '62 when...

Anne:
It's with great sadness and shock that we heard of Max's passing.
My memory now only remembers select people, places and things from my past.
Would you believe that I can see Max walking into GA's library with his violin case and double breasted suit as vividly as if it happened today.
He was a memory maker!

Anne, I just received the announcement from Eli last night. Completely startled me. Max and you have always been near to my heart since that first evening of watching "Miss America" in Nashville. I will cherish Max's e-mail of just a few weeks ago in which he recalls his antics in those days. A wonderful human being who will always remain in my memory and make me chuckle. In that way he may be gone, but never departed.

Love you, and continue to stay in touch.

Dear Annie,
I am so sad to learn of Max's passing. It seems all my life that he has been there as a trusted advisor and treasured companion. Nancy and I are deeply grieved at losing him.

The best friend anyone could ever have, whether bowling, dining or performing magic. Our hearts are with you Anne

I had the profound privilege of knowing this man of generosity, vision and true courage when I was a member of Gaudenzia's executive committee. I never underestimated his convictions and his willingness to act on these convictions. His gentle way and humor will be missed. Job well done. Rosemary

Annie & Family: As long as I breathe, Max shall live on. Devoted husband and Father, Dear Friend, Foodie Extraodinaire, and Dedicated Lawyer.
