Not sure what to say?

Dick and Carol were our neighbors for 30 years. They were always so kind to our children. Any time they knocked on their door, Dick and Carol would warmly welcome them in for a cookie and a chat. They were so kind, in fact, that our children called them Grandma and Grandpa. Both Dick and Carol are greatly missed.

We lived across the street from Dick for over thirty years. He and Carol were the most wonderful neighbors we could have hoped for, and they are missed very much.

It was on the mourn
That I saw a ship a sailing
The sea was calm
The winds were fair
Dick was young
And he was at the rail
With shipmates once again.---rs

Wish I had known this lovely man. Such a full, wonderful life.

I met Dick in 2018 when I moved back to Oregon; his daughter Sue and I have been friends since our freshman year at the University of Oregon. As a fellow Chicago-area native and Navy daughter, and Dragon boater, I loved listening to his stories and conversing with him about all sorts of news topics, and especially politics. I most recently saw Dick during Thanksgiving 2019, and although he was still recuperating after a prior event in the year, he was just as fun, and mentally intact as ever....

What a blessing that all of our parents had such awesome friends. We are all better people and our lives brighter for having known Dick and Carol.

He was my shop teacher in 1974 - 1975. It was one of my favorite classes. I learned so much about wood working from him and still have and use a lot of the projects I made back then. He was so kind and patient.

Dick and Carol were wonderful people that I was honored to know for several decades. My heart goes out to Paula and Sue as I know how badly your heart hurts from the passing of your Dad. I will keep you in my thoughts & prayers
