Dear Alice Lee & Family,
Holle joins me in sending our condolences and expressing our deepest sympathy to all of you at this time of your loss. As you know, Dick was very special to me and the entire Cook Family -- just as you are Alice Lee. We will miss him greatly and think of him every time we come to Tucson. Sorry to hear that another of my old NPS freinds has gone on. I remember Dick and Alice Lee when I was a seasonal ranger at Ash Mountain in 1952-53. We had a common friend, John Rutter, who was the first ranger I ever met. I ran into Dick in later years while he was in the Washington Office and I was Supt. at Wind Cave NP. I can remember being at their house at Ash Mountain and the racoons came begging in the evening. Best of everything to Alice Lee and the family. Les and Wanda McClanahan
