Faith Funeral Home - Morrisville Obituary

Richard M. Brace, Jr., of Jeffersonville and North Hyde Park, VT passed away November 24, 2021 at his hotel surrounded by loved ones.   He was born June 27, 1961 in Middlebury, VT the son of Richard M. Brace, Sr. and Sandy Brace. 


Richard spent the first part of his life in Addison County, VT working on dairy farms and later moved to Lamoille County where he and Juanita Larose became friends and business partners and ran the Deer Run Motor Inn together.  


Rich was a kind and caring person with a heart of gold.   He always tried to help anyone  he could.   A great son, brother, uncle, and friend.   He enjoyed antiques, his cars and loved his flower gardens, especially stargazer lilies.


He was predeceased by his father, Richard Brace, Sr. and his two sisters and also his wife Juanita Larose Brace.   He is survived by his mother, Sandra Brace, brother Mark K. Brace, both of Panton, his sister, Pauline and brother-in-law, Norman Dunham of Vergennes; nephew, Chris Perkins of Burlington, nieces Tammy Perkins Shaw of Witherbee, NY and Angel Dunham of Crown Point, NY and long- time friend, Lisa Wildes, and his beloved dog, Bo.


At his request there will be no service but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I'm sorry for your loss I use to stop down and talk with Rich when he was down to Aunt Jaunitas and his house in North Hyde Park He will be missed !!

Richard was a kind man a good friend and a good landlord I truly appreciated him he was a gentle soul he will truly be missed at the deer Run motel he was always helping out the homeless I am glad my wife got to see him one last time he was asking for her that morning we are going to miss u my friend

You will be loved and remembered forever. Glad I got to say a final goodbye.

To his family we are sorry for ur loss we will miss seeing him behind the desk at the deer run we will all miss him dearly
