Cartmell - Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home - Downtown Obituary

Richard Wedgewood Bramhall, Jr. of Plymouth died on April 5th in his home surrounded by his family. He is the beloved husband of Jami (Shorb) Bramhall; loving father of Ben Bramhall, Sam Bramhall, Sally Bramhall, Elizabeth Bramhall, and Buddy Bramhall; and loving brother of Chuck Bramhall and Cindy Bramhall Jenkins of Plymouth. Born in Plymouth on June 2, 1952 to the late Richard W. and Virginia (Phinney) Bramhall, he was educated in the Plymouth schools and managed to graduate from Plymouth – Carver High School. Wedgie owned and operated Bramhall's Country Store along with his family in the Chiltonville section of Plymouth. A native Pilgrim descendant and former town meeting member, he was actively involved in the preservation of his hometown's land, environment, community, and history. He enjoyed fishing, lobstering, clamming, farming, photography, his tractor, his snowplow, and watching sunsets from his porch at Plymouth beach. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday April 12th at 2:00 pm at the Chiltonville Church on River Street, across from his country store and next to the home in which he grew up. Visiting hours in the Church on Friday from 4-7 pm. Souther's Marsh will host an after-party Saturday at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, please join the community at one or all of these times in a celebration of his life. A private burial alongside his parents and a final journey into the sea will occur at a later date. More info and online guestbook please visit www.cartmellfuneralhome.com

Not sure what to say?

We will always keep you in our thoughts Wedgie.

Wedgie was an amazing friend, always true to himself and others. He has a solid place in my heart. Julie Gaipo-Mrabet

Dear Jami and family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. May the love of family and friends comfort you at this difficult time.

Wedgie was a good guy he will be missed by many
Chiltonville has lost it's greatest ambassador, his family has lost a great guy

From all your friends at the bank, you will be sorely missed

The little white Chiltonville Church could not hold all of the
people whose lives Wedgie touched. He embodied that free and independent spirit we all wish we had. He was like an inside out man; the courage to show the world his heart.
Thank you Wedge for your life. Child of Nature. I have learned from your example. My deepest sympathy to your
family at this tragic time. Chris Viegaard Boreland

The heart remembers simple joys and happy moments -- the heart remembers special people like Wedgie. A sense of loss is the worst feeling. It's so futile to think about what we can never get back. But my wish for the family is to find strength in what remains behind and find peace.
