Not sure what to say?

16 April 2025, Wednesday, 9:12 a.m., Pacific Daylight Time. Professor Richard Brinkman comes to mind in this perilously dangerous period in our American history where the obsessive focus and incompetent fixation on American tariff settings is, and will, tragically cripple our economy. I can still hear Professor Brinkman's incisively expressed, and searing excoriation of the underlying predicate motivating the creation of the Smoot-Hawley tariff that significantly contributed to the United...

4 October 2024, Friday, 1:05 p.m., Pacific Daylight Times Professor Richard Brinkman strongly exemplifies the future and the promise of America. Through his expansive and extensive positive view of the potentiality of the nation, the far sightedness he projected is commensurate with the self-discipline and self-determination he exuded during the course and tenure of lecturing upon complex and technical issues of economics and the intersectionality economic policies of the United States are...

Prof. Brinkman was one of the best, most caring, brilliant, amazing souls/mentors/professors I have met in my life. He is one of the reasons ( the other is Prof. Hall) why I am where I am, having completed my PhD in Economics, and traveled thru a wonderful path of knowledge, curiosity, research, friendships, and mentorships....I am just hoping that wherever he is, let him be in peace and light. I continue to hold his light close to my heart as I live on.

14 August 2024 Professor Brinkman exemplified the best in positivism and optimism. Constantly animated in advancing the insatiable thirst and intense hunger for knowledge, I recall Professor Brinkman with great fondness and tremendous respect! As a student in his Economics 101/103 courses (summer 1970), he exuded a great intensity that was especially infectious. As a student in his Economic History of the United States 486/488 courses (1970-1971), his artful presentation style and uniquely...

"From Stardust to Us." I'll always remember Professor Brinkman saying that in class. One of my favorite Professors. He inspired me to pursue Economics at the highest level and today I teach courses and try to pass on some of what he taught me. Thanks, Prof. Brinkman.

I am one of those students Prof. Brinkman has touched profoundly to change my life when I was a masters student in economics at PSU from 1997-99. Now I am a senior economist at the UN...and carry the torch in my heart, with a flame stronger than ever because of teachers, humans like Prof. Brinkman. I will never forget you Prof. Brinkman, will always keep your place in my heart, with love and respect. I miss you dear Prof. Brinkman.

I just learned. I was always glad when we met at conferences

Good bye, friend. I met you when I was first elected to the PSU-AAUP Executive Council...I learned a lot from your work on behalf of the PSU faculty. I appreciate the honor I have in having known you. Thanks.
