Not sure what to say?

He was a good friend, mentor and provided work for me when I and my family needed it. So sorry for your loss .

Doing a google search on Big Daddy´s, I came across this obituary which I´m saddened to read. Big Daddy´s was a great old school hardcore gym, and when I started working out there at the age of 14, Rich always made me feel feel comfortable in an area with guys 2-3 times my size moving weight that was unimaginable. Wish I still had my Beast from the East T- shirt. Rich made Big Daddy´s one of those places that are like folklore now, in an era of designer fitness spas called "gyms". Rest...

Rick was a great person. I met him sometime in the early 80's as a high school kid. Spent many days and hours in his gym at the x in Springfield Ma before joining the Marine Corps. He was always a kind and awesome man who would help any one at any time if needed. Have many pictures of those day back then in my photo albums of Rick and all the members with awesome memories. Rick RIP your friend!!! Paul Chenevert AKA Big P

Rick was a good friend and weight lifting mentor. When I was the New England weight lifting coach for Special Olympics he supported the Olympian with encouragement and gear. My guy was wearing a shirt with the Big Daddy logo when he won a silver medal at the International games... RIP old friend Jack Sanocki

I first met Rick when I was 19 years old & started training for powerlifting at Big Daddy's Gym in 1990. Rick was always there to offer training advice and guidance to us younger guys, and he always had a smile on his face. He was a great guy and we all looked up to him. I really miss those days. So sorry to hear of his passing. RIP 'Big Daddy'...

Rick was a fantastic mentor for me for weightlifting. He supported the special Olympic weightlifting program and helped to train a future silver medalist in the 1987 International Games

Goodbye my cousin Ricky, remembering all the wonderful fun times on Liberty St. when we were young- sledding down the street in winter, swimming in Leeds with the huge inner tube your dad brought from Pratt & Whitney, using the basketball hoop in your back yard, but only when you and your brothers weren't home, because you didn't want us girls using your ball ! So many family gatherings at Christmas, your mom making us a big bag of popcorn to take to the movie at the Calvin. The passage of time...

First met Rick at 18 when I visited Big Daddy's Gym in 1978. Such an intimidating place however Rick was
friendly and welcoming to me. He was just that kind of guy.
He gave me advice about weightlifting and more importantly about being a responsible young man. It was a turning point in my life for the better.
RIP “Big Daddy”

Thank you for taking a tall, skinny kid and putting 80 pounds on me. I first trained at the Springfield Barbell Club, which turned into Big Daddy's. May you rest in Peace, my Brother.
