Not sure what to say?

Rick was a very special person. I worked with him for many years at Parkland. He was unique and creative in a way that drew people to him. His yearly hand drawn Christmas cards were always hand delivered. His costumes were well thought out down to the smallest detail. He loved riding his motorcycle and was a dedicated Beatles fan. I am so sorry to hear that he has past. His mischievous smile and the twinkle in his eye, and his thought posting on Facebook made him unforgettable. Rick,...

When he would come into the library at Parkland, Rick always brought a laugh and a usually a creative project to share. I appreciated his gentle but sly sense of humor. A small smile, a twinkle in his eye...he always brought a little sparkle to your day. My condolences to his family and friends.

Rick was one of a kind. He would do anything for you. He would stop by the office to see if I needed anything. Anything you wanted done he would be glad to help. We always got his Christmas cards and would wonder what picture he would have! He had a real art talent. When I retired he drew a nice picture and wrote a poem. He would keep us up to date on his comings and goings after his retirement. He loved to go to WI to his family there. He will be missed.y

It's sad news to hear that Rick has died, I hadn't heard that he has been sick. I'm sending love and sympathies to all the family. I was a counselor at Parkland for 15 years. Rick took his work seriously, he was kind, friendly, and funny. I admired his creative spirit and generosity in sharing his Christmas character cards every year. I looked forward to seeing what his card would be each year. I have saved them all and will cherish them and my memories of short conversations we had in...

I worked at Parkland and got to know Rick there. In his work, he always went the extra mile. Once, when the students in our program were having a celebratory event where friends and family were invited, he went over to the theater area, unasked, and did some extra cleaning to make sure PC left the best impression on the guests. This was not an area assigned to him and that was typical. He was pretty shy, but we would chat from time to time. So many of us looked forward to his Halloween...

First, condolences to his family and loved ones. I'm sorry for your loss.

If you've met Rick you know he was someone you'll never forget. I think he should've pursued a career in the Arts. His theatrics and love of dressing the "part" was a gift, as was his talent for drawing. I treasure the button pins of the Beatles he hand-sketched for Christmas giving me Ringo one year, Paul the next, then John and George the following two Christmases.

He was kind, funny, and...

Can't believe your gone. Always a character and pleasure to be around. Parkland College is a better place because you were a part of it. RIP

Rick was quite a character. Among the favorite things in my desk when I worked at Parkland College were the many character photographs Rick had taken of himself. My favorite was his Sgt. Pepper jacket. Rick always had a smile on his face. R.I.P.

Rick was a ray of sunshine: his smile, his love of costuming, and comical internet images. What a lovely soul he was.
