For a couple pf years Dick was my boss at Northeast Utilities. He was a great guy to work for and to know. Too often it seems we lose touch with people in our lives that we shouldn´t. He was an interesting guy with great stories, two of which I will tell here. He grew up in Nebraska and worked for a time on a buffalo ranch. Somehow, I asked what do you do when a buffalo gets loose. How do you get them back? "You shoot `em." "You shoot them?!" "They´re wild animals. You can´t just say,...

While Dick Brown was director of the Northeast Utilities Service Company´s Department of Consumer Economics and Michele Witowski was his secretary, I also had the fortunate opportunity to work with them as an employee in the department´s Economic and Load Forecasting Section. It was my honor to be Dick Brown's secretary at Northeast Utilities for 5 years. He was a true gentleman and a great boss and I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I'm sorry we lost touch Barbara. Tad and I offer our sympathies to you and your family.
