Not sure what to say?

Dick was one of my best friends even though I lived in Vancouver BC. Our long lasting relationship was initiated through AZA during our early teens.

I spent many wonderful days and nights at the Brownstein home enjoying the hospitality that Mrs. Brownstein provided with pleasure, particularly her meals.

We traveled together to many AZA conventions during our youth, and after we married continued to enjoy travels as couples. As a side bit of information my dear wife...

Tom was just on the golf course and got the sad news about Dick via Jeff Morris. We are so sorry for you and the family. He was such a great man and our beach trips were so special when we visited with you. Wish I could send a hug. Love, Tom and Laurie

Dear Brownstein family: I have been out of the country for two weeks when I heard of Dick's passing.

had the pleasure to work with Dick in the reserves for many years. He sponsored me into the university Club of Portland. He was a great friend and a fine gentleman.

Dear Brownstein Family,
I wish I had known Dick better. I do kow that he and my Uncle Sid Sherman z"l were the best of friends.I may have a picture or two of them as young men. We were also very fond of his wonderful mother Vera. May you be comforted by your memories.

Dear Donna,Jebbie, Jois, and Richie and families;
We just heard to-day of the passing of our special friend, Dick. Our fond memories go back to A.Z.A. days when we were just 14 years old.Unfortunately, it has been a while since we have seen each other and we were planning to phone him to-night.We have fond memories and will miss his laugh and his jokes.
Our thoughts are with you all.

Dear Jebbie, Jois and Richie, Your Dad and we have been friends since we all met when we were in High School. Our friendship has continued all these years and we were looking forward to seeing him in the next few weeks. How devastated we were! We will miss him greatly. Betty and Orrin Kabaker

Dear Jeb, Jois & Rich,
My heartfelt condolences for your loss. It's been decades since I last saw your father. I remember him as a warm man with a big heart (and a fast little red sports car!)

My memories of Dick are from the days we played soldier together on the JAG staff of the army reserve back in the 1970s. Our numerous trips to the Benson Hotel and other fine eating establishements for Sunday brunch to fortify ourselves for the remainder of the "working" day in the reserves have always been fond memories. These memories however, pale by comparison to living in Carmel and eating and drinking our way up and down the California coast as we underwent our annnual two week...

To Jois and the rest of your family,

Many years ago Tom and I attended a Passover seder at your home and were surrounded by that special mix of warmth, love, reverence and political passion. It was a memorable evening, with your father at the head of the table. He surely knew the love of his family and community.

With regards,

Suzy Harris & Tom Coleman
