I worked for Dick for five years. He truly was one of the best bosses that I ever had. He was a naturally funny guy, who really liked to teach if you approached him with a question. For a while he picked me up in Granby every day as he rode into Amherst at 5:00 AM. I will miss you very much, Dicky.

Scott and family, I'm really sorry to read about Dick. He was such a kind, fun guy. Some of my best memories of the Newman Center and UMass-Amherst include Dick Buffum. He also gave me the best nickname ever. I hope such happy memories bring you some comfort during this difficult time.
