Don't know what made me look up Rick but I did and was so sorry to hear of his passing. Rick was always so fun and I loved spending time with him. Our part of the family is not the same since Mom's passing. Sorry I didn't know of his illness. Love Prayers and Blessing,

Rick was perhaps the most genuine, authentic, and gentle person I have ever known. We met while I was taking care of my dear friend, Billy Edwards...and then we became friends as well. Their visits to Long Beach to see me were pure joy. It was impossible not to love Rick. The world was a better place when you were in his company. I don't know of a greater compliment. My deepest condolences to Steve and Chris, and others in Rick's family.

I met Rick when he was in New York in 2014 for the production of "Champagne Lady," which I saw twice and enjoyed very much. I subsequently met him for dinner and we had such a lovely time, I regretted his having to go back SF and told him so. We parted with a hug. He was a lovely person and a true talent. I'm grateful he entered my life, even for those brief moments.

Rick was the best man in my wedding June 24, 2008. He was a wonderful man who made me laugh. He was there for me when I was down and encouraged me to keep performing when I had self doubt. I will miss him immensely and feel lost without my confidant and friend. I love you Rick. You have left both mine and my husband Kurt's hearts warm forever. See you someday on the other side when we can laugh again...Paul & Kurt

Steve and family ---- I understand your grief, since I recently lost my only brother. Unfortunately, I did not know Rick, but I have the impression that he was a remarkable person. I hope we can meet the next time you come to Milwaukee.

I'm glad I got to spend some time with Rick at the last multi-class Pewaukee reunion. He was so upbeat and yes, very entertaining, but also very open, caring, genuinely nice and unfailingly kind. He was indeed a beautiful man, and the world was a better place with him in it. I'm glad he had Steve and Chris caring for him for the past year. As difficult and painful as it must have been for them to witness the progression of Rick's cancer, I think it was a blessing for him to have their support...

I met Rick when he came to the store that I work at looking for a seamstress to detail his Mae West costume and from then on our friendship blossomed. He was a gem, a true precious gift the universe sent me. I am going to miss my doll...my Ricky...my best friend. Happy trails Rick until we meet again...Linda
