Dear Susan and Family, I recently learned about Rick passing. I am sorry for your loss. I knew him only for a short time. At the Occidental Bar we often talked about literature, business and his love for landscapes and fishing. I will miss our conversations.

Susan and Family,
Cathy and I share the loss of Rick with you and so many others that knew and loved him. We will miss his quick wit, his wealth of knowledge and his endless supply of fishing tips. A beautiful person.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Rick's passing. In the few years I have been acquainted with Rick, I knew him to be one of the most unpretentious men I ever met. He was a great story teller of places he has been, and things he did, always with humor and that perma-grin he always had. He is sorely missed and will continue to be an inspiration to me of a life well lived.

To Rick’s family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Rick was truly a great man: strong, smart yet self effacing. Very few men have the grit to rise from the earth to make something of themselves, and Rick was the only person I have personally known who did it without forgetting where he came from.

I only had the privilege of knowing Rick these past two years, yet he took countless hours of his personal time to listen to and guide me through all the tribulations of the early stages...
