Dr Burtis death is a tremendous loss to the Brattleboro community. He was my primary care physician from 1967 until 1973. I had developed duodenal ulcers and he guided me through it effectively. In a subsequent office visit, he told me he would recommend that my draft status be changed from a 2S (student) to 4F because of my ulcer history and my flat feet.
