Unpacking Was a Pleasure
It was just a studio apartment, but Richard Caproni had finally become a homeowner after more than a decade of renting in Manhattan and Queens. He had bought in Lynbrook, on Long Island, not far from where he grew up, and moved in three weeks ago.

His sister, Lisa, was still decorating the place in denim-blue and wood hues. He told her no fussy, floral motifs. "He was proud of buying that apartment," she said. "Because he was on his own."

Mr. Caproni, 34, worked in the accounts payable department at Marsh & McLennan. Known as Richie to his family and friends, he was always teasing them to make them laugh.

In high school, he played football and remained a lifelong fan. He favored the Giants, but followed other teams; he had tickets to an Ohio State game in a few weeks.

His new apartment would have been the perfect place to kick back and watch "Monday Night Football."

"He just had to unpack a little more," his sister said. "And he was good to go."

Not sure what to say?

Remembering Richard on the 20th anniversary of 9/11....

Coach Caproni, My deepest sympathies to you and your family.
You were so instrumental in the development of your South Side
Athletes and the spirit you gave us. I am sure Richie's spirit will continue.
May God bless you and keep your family in His hands.

Today, 09/12/19, we remember you Rich. We will never forget. To Rich's family members .. Continue to share Rich's special characteristics thru your actions. With regards.

To the Caproni family, am so sorry for the loss of Rich. I knew his parents Richard and Dee from the gym in Ocean City MD, my late husband and I used to live there. I watch for his name every year on the Memorial Service (TV). I share his name so he is never forgotten. I told my son; I found out I was expecting him on 9/10/2001. Rest in Peace

Praying today for Richard's family and friends. We will never forget. With love from Texas,

I'm not sure, but I think we are related. My mother is a Caproni and many of my ancestors come from Italy. May you rest in peace Richard.

Coach Caproni,
This is a note to you and the passing of your son. I'm sure he was a "good man." They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. In your case I'm very sure that's the truth. As a student and athlete under your guidance, you were like the father I wished for. You touched many children during your time at South Side. Richard lives within all of us. Be proud, may you sail in peaceful seas.
We can't thank you enough,

I heard but couldnt believe. Today I came across a pic of me & you at a Language Services Holiday party. Then I made it my business to listen for your name, I heard it for the first time. You were the shining star @ LS, you helped the production team get through the day. You are missed. God bless you & your family. Rest In Peace

Praying for your family on this day 9/11/12. I worked with Lisa at NY&CO. May Rich Rest In Paradise.
