I first met Dick at Wistar Inst. Where I was a Post-Doc and he was getting ready to move to IBR. We became friends. Later, when I was writing grant proposals he, in his inimitable style, said "When all your grants go down the drain give me a call". They did and I called. Thus began my longstanding friendship with Dick and my 50 year tenure at IBR where I´m still at it. He was a dear friend and colleague.
