Richard Emil "Pat" Cassels

I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. I worked with Mr. Cassels at the Eye Foundation Hospital while I was in school at UAB, majoring in Accounting. Mr. Cassels always hired an accounting student to help him in the business office. I was fortunate to be selected to work with him for two years. He was my mentor, teacher and a subsitute "dad" at work. I learned much of the work ethic I carry with me today from Mr. Cassels. He always shared stories about his wife Lois and was so proud...

I happened to be passing through the cemetery when this service was about to begin. I pulled to the side to pay respects to this man and this family. I saw the flagged drapped casket. My Father was also in the Army Air Corp in WWII and was an MIA/POW. I cried for and prayed for this family and will continue to do so.
