Richard G. Caton Sr.

Richard G. Caton, Sr., of Woodbury, on March 31, 2012. Legacy Dick was born in Berwick, Pa. where he was proud to be part of their long and rich football tradition. He received his undergraduate degree from Bloomsburg University and went on to earn his doctorate from Temple. As a loving husband, father and grandfather he always took care of his family. He had two distinguished careers - first as a Superintendent of schools and later as Executive Director of the New Jersey Turfgrass Association. Furthermore, he was an accomplished musician and public speaker. Some liked to say that "Doc" was a true "renaissance man". He loved to share wisdom, good food and good drink in all company. He will be fondly remembered by the many people whose lives he touched. Family Dick was predeceased by his beloved wife Marjorie (nee Bower), and son Christopher; he is the loving father of Richard, Jr. and daughter-in-law Cindy; adoring grandfather of Christopher, Jr. and Kelly; dear brother of Linda Steffey. Farewell Service A Celebration of Richard's Life will be held at the family home on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
