I've known the Cheek's since 61, I always admired him and all he has done.

Helen, a lovely soul has left us. Tim and I will miss bumping into the two of you at the market. What a wonderful life you had together. What can I say. So sorry for the loss.

Mr. Cheek was one of the few men I admired at St. Rose because he let his actions display his faith. He was loved by all of us in my class and he took time to get to know us all. Truly the end of an incredible era. If his soul does not live on in heaven, then heaven does not exist. Best to Helen and the entire Cheek family.

Dear Helen and all family of Dick. I just heard about this and felt a shock in my body to realize that Dick is not with us anymore. But the more he will now live in our hearts and smiles! Dick and Helen have been the best and kindest people I know in Portland. I will never forget this. Peter

I knew him as a very kind and generous man, with a twinkle-eyed sense of humor. I wish I were more like him.

Dick was a wonderful inspiration to me for many years in the Discussion Club. He will be missed. He and his family remain in my prayers. I will be in Denver during his funeral but would be there otherwise.
