One of the most honorable and most knowledgeable men I have ever known. I will miss our talks about Boston sports, current events, and family history immensely. In addition his manner (kindness, patience), and his physical traits always reminded me of my grandmother, so it was always extra special for me to be around him. Rest In Peace Uncle Richard. Find a copy, it's full of must know about Melrose and a reading pleasure. Did you know Dick contributed to the Melrose Centennial Committees book Melrose, Past, present and Future. Published January 1, 2000. It's a pleasure to read & catch up on all things Melrose.

Dick Collis was one of the finest gentlemen I have ever met. It's hard to put into words what he meant to Melrose High School athletics - First & foremost, he was the most loyal fan Melrose has ever had. He was one of the founders of the Melrose Hall of Fame 28 yrs ago. He probably attended more athletic events than anyone in history. He loved all the athletes & they in turn appreciated his support. I had the pleasure of working with Dick on MHS Hall of Fame committees. No one worked...
