Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth Obituary

Richard H. Corrion

Frankenmuth, MI

Richard passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at his home at the age of 73 years.  Richard was born on September 27, 1947 in Bay City, MI to Ernest and Emma Corrion. He married the love of his life Carol Williams on April 26, 1969 and they had 3 beautiful children. Richard worked for General Motors as a Tool and Die Maker and a Union Representative for Local 699 for 38 years.  After retiring, his love for staying busy and being with people encouraged him to continue doing what he loved – being everyone’s handyman.  He worked at Da Vinci’s Restaurant in Frankenmuth for the next several years where he continued to expand his circle of friends and enjoyed giving back to his community.  He loved the outdoors, which included hunting, fishing and ensuring his lawn was in tip-top shape.   He was also an avid Michigan State fan.  Richard loved his dogs and enjoyed a special connection with all the family dogs.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Emma and his brother Gordon.  Richard is survived by his wife Carol, their three children Wesley (Julie) Corrion, David (Kristin) Corrion, and Ericka Daenzer. He has four grandchildren Kellie, Logan, Izzy, and Chaz that were the light of life. He is also survived by two sisters Joann (Terry) Jacobs and Carol (Lynn) Kalinowski; along with many nieces and nephews.  Richard will also be missed by many friends and neighbors.  “Say not in grief he is no more, but in thankfulness that he was.”

Due to COVID-19 restrictions a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth.

Not sure what to say?

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Dick and wish the best for Carol under the sad circumstances, and, also to Dave, Wesley, and Ericka. Dick, along with Carol, shared a lot of fun times with my wife and I. We met at work and our familes quickly became good friends. My prayers go to Carol. Best Wishes, Ron Burkhard

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Keeping your family in my prayers. I was in Dick's classes through high school at St James. I am very sorry for your loss. I believe we did some dancing at the Friday night dances at St James. Great memories of him.
