I first met Richard in 1983 in Schweinfurt, Germany. That was such a long, long time ago, but yet some of the conversations I had with him, I can remember as if it were yesterday.
Richard was such a determined man, telling me of tales when he was stationed at Ft. Campbell before Schweinfurt, and of course the good times we shared in Germany.

Dear Crawford Family,

My name is Jennifer Shott, and my father is a truck driver. On the tragic day of the accident, I passed by the clean up of the accident on US 31. I was overwhelmed immediately with sadness, not knowing the details. I began praying for the victims of the crash at that moment. I later heard the details on the news that night, and I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I want you to know that I pass by the crash sight daily, and I will continue to pray for you each...

Margaret and Melissa,
This is so tragic. Dan and I will always remember the fishing trip we went on with you and Richard. Sitting out on your back porch and Richard playing his guitar. Your family has gone thru so much, you have the love of all your family and friends to help get you thru this. You and I have known each other since we were 3 years old. I will always be there for you.
