I just heard about Rick's passing once we got back from the shutdown. Rick went out of his way to help me out a few times over the last three years, and I really appreciate it. Rick was a good guy who was good at his job, and will definitely be missed.

I was on a Federal Jury with Rich about 2 years ago and we became friends. He was a generous, happy man who would do anything for you. He arranged a tour for my family to visit NASA and we were overwhelmed with the people who knew him and admired him along with his work. He will be greatly missed by me and many others.
