I am also very sad to hear of Dick's passing. He was a good man and like a surrogate father to me in the important teen years. I worked for him and became a manager for his restaurant before I was 20. I actually have been trying to find him for the last few months. Bettylou, my best to you and your entire family. I miss those days 30 years ago.

I am sad to hear of Lee's passing. We were friend in 1947 & 1948. He was from Jefferson Union and I from Toronto High School. He was such a wonderful gentleman. Fate took us both in diffrent directions. I will always remember him as very special in my life.

I was very sad to read of Dick's passing. I had the good fortune to know him when he worked in real estate development in Glendale and went on to work with him and the NFL Alumni Association. His volunteer work with this group was tireless and way more than generous. I feel privileged to have known him.

My Uncle Dick was a wonderful, kind, sweet, gentle man. Memories of he and his family are some of my most cherished thoughts of childhood. Dick was especially fantastic after my father passed away. He and Betty Lou took my mother in for about 3 weeks. Dick doted on her. He truly loved my mother, another special memory now that she is gone as well.
Much love to all the family. God's love and grace is sufficient for all things, including the loss of loved ones!!

Dick was a fine man, a wonderful friend, and an unbelievable competitor in everything he undertook to accomplish. I will always cherish those days on the golf course when we competed as a team in each others club invitationals at Pinetop Country Club and Tucson Country Club.

For one of the strongest and toughest guys you'll ever want to know, Dick was most definitely an emotional softy. When we discussed our children, our wives, and even some youthful mistakes we had made, there...
