Salute

I was one of those boys back in 1967 that had the priviledge to be in Mr. Dawson's Sunday School at Woodlawn Baptist. Mr. Dawson was such a wonderful Christian influence on us all. I remember one Sunday when we sneaked rubber bands into the room with the intent of shooting each other with paper wads, Mr. Dawson saw that we became more concerned with shooting each other's eye out than we were on the lesson. So, he bent over, pulled up his suit jacket, and told us to fire away to get it out...

I just got finished writing a two page memorial, remembering all the good times I had with Dick when I was a kid. I will always remember him as a strong wonderful man, and I am forecer grateful that I was a member of his family. I'll always love you.

A more loving, careing Christian man has never lived in our day. Mr D. is the reason that I have a relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and eternial life through His blood and passion. I will never be able to thank him for what he has done for me. He is truly a shining star in the eternal city where Jesus is the light.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithfull departed, by the mercy of God rest in peace, and may light perpetual shine upon him.

Mr. Dawson was one of the nicest people I met at Liberty Park Baptist. He always made everyone welcome. He will be missed.

My Dearest Pop,
I never remember a time in my life in which you were not smiling. Your sincere love for life and your dedication to family are beyond anything I've observed at this point in my life. The memories I have with you are some of the fondest I can recall. I'll always cherish the wonderful times that we had together and look forward to new times when we all get to heaven. Words simply cannot express the pain of knowing that I can't see your smiling face any longer and I'll...

Love you Mr.and Mrs. Dawson

To the Dawson family we extend our heartfelt sympathy and love. May God bless you with his grace and comfort. We will be praying for you.

He was the best grandfather in the world. I have many precious memories that I will always treasure. There will never be another man like him--he loved life and brought joy to everyone he met. He had a deep faith in God and lived by his convictions. I learned so many life lessons from him. My children weren't able to know him, but I will make sure that they know what a wonderful great-grandfather they had. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
I love you, Pop,...
