Not sure what to say?

Rick and family,
We never met your dad, but we've witnessed the result of his greatest efforts! We'd say his family is a wonderful legacy to leave to this earth and one to cherish. Although we are unable to be with you at this time, please know that our love stretches across the state. Peace to all of you,

Sandy and Mark

I met Dick DeChant when I was a young reporter at WEWS in the early 1970s. His enthusiasm for, and love of, Cleveland-Northeast Ohio was contagious and he helped create my own life-long of the area.
Rest well, my friend

So many good memories come to mind as we think of Uncle Dick.
He has provided us all with a lifetime of positive influence, and he has enriched our lives with the example he has left behind.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

DEcHANT FAMILY: YOUR DAD AND I WERE FRIENDS BACK IN THE DAYS OF CEI& OHIO BELL. BUT OUR BEST RELATIONSHIP WAS WITH THE RSVP ORGANIZATION . HE WAS THE 'SPARK PLUG THAT IGNITED EVERY ONE ON THE BOARD INTO ACTION. A REAL "TAKE CHARGE" GUY. AA GREAT LEADER FOR THE CITY OF CLEVELAND.. THEY NEED A DICK DECHANT RIGHT NOW! HE WILL BE MISSED. DICK: GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO YOUR REWARD, ENJOY ...IN PEACE.
PS. SAY HELLO TO MARY CUNNEEN FOR ME.

To the DeChant family,

My wife informed me by email of the death your father and grandfather. I was saddened to learn of his passing. May your many fond memories of him, and the sympathy of friends, console you in your grief.

Uncle Dick taught us all to be positive in our outlook on life and live every day to it's fullest.
His great practice of his Christian faith was my gift from him, as he was my very special godfather.
I am not quite sure why, but I will keep a Buckeye in my pocket as he told me to do so.
Tom, Jim, Rick, David and loving family members my prayers and love are with you at this time.
