Not sure what to say?

Dick was a Counselor for the VA when I knew him. I was under his care and believe he saved my life. I served with the USMC '69-70' in Vietnam. He liked a poem I had written. If any of his close friends read this note and want to get in touch with [email protected] Rest In Peace Richard E. Derick, you will not be forgotten.

From 1999 to 2001 I lived in the apartment above Dick at his 415 High Street address while attending my second and third years at the UM Law School. Dick and I got to be good friends. We would often cook dinner together on weekends. His Airedales at the time were Bo and Lady. Bo was happy-go-lucky and mild-mannered. I didnt know Richard for long, but he was so sweet and he will definitely be missed.

Rest In Peace.. I will miss our talks.

I never had the honor of meeting him, but from everything I've read he sounds like an absolutely wonderful, wonderful man. I know he will be greatly missed by the entire Ann Arbor community.

I lived in the apartment above Dick's in the 1990's and he was a good neighbor and landlord. We kept in touch a bit after I bought a house nearby. I was shocked to hear of his death. My condolences to his friends and family. - Regan Knapp

In my thoughts Richard and Sammy, I will miss our political conversations and your smile.
