Not sure what to say?

Nancy, Thinking of you and your family. The moment Tom and I met Rick, we knew he was a very special person. Going through the same journey together formed a bond. I know you miss him as much as I do Tom.❤

I am so sorry for your family and all that knew him. He made us laugh when things weren't all that happy. Prayers are with you.

My cousin just went to heaven and ran across this, thankfully. He was a wonderful person whom I haven't seen for ages. My prayers are for you to celebrate the treasured memories in your heart...that's what he would have wanted.

Rick was a wonderful reporter respected by all who saw his work, and a kind and loving person missed by all who knew him. Few of us could ask to be remembered better than that. I'm proud to have been his cousin and wish I could have been in St. Louis to hear the memorial service. Laura Denvir Stith

Great sense of humor ... Ellen's big brother...unforgetable laugh.

Dear Desloge Family,
My heart to yours. I went to grade school with Rick. I have followed his work in the SLBJ for years. I remember that great smile of his. He always looked like he was up to trouble – even if he wasn't. That meant that he had to keep on his toes with the nuns.
Whatever was going on, Rick's grin and that sparkle in his eye kept people laughing and happy. I am so sorry for your great sadness.

Sincerely,

Just found out today. Your family is in my prayers.

Our deepest sympathy to the Desloge family and especially to Kathleen from the family of her deceased friend Marie Senkosky. Sincerely, Marianne Senkosky Fournie

There's a real irony in trying to come up with the right words about the life of Rick Desloge, who wrote so well for so many years. He set the bar so high that one hesitates to write anything that isn't up to his standards.

Rick always told the story well and, more important, fairly. It was an honor to be consulted as a source from time to time, and an even greater honor to have Rick as a friend. I am one of many who miss him terribly.
