Mr. Richard Timothy Deveau, Sr. 72, of Mullins, passed away at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, during the morning of Sunday, October 22, 2023, after a steady decline in health over the past several years.


Richard was born on August 11, 1951, in Gloucester, Massachusetts, the son of the late Abe and Gladys Deveau. Richard had formerly worked as an automobile mechanic for Mercury Tire Service in Massachusetts. He loved landscaping and attended Gapway Baptist Church.


Surviving Richard are his four children: Stephen Deveau of Georgia. Richard T. Deveau, Jr. of Mullins, Caleb Deveau of Florence, Mariah Deveau of Florida, Anthony Deveau of Florida, and Adam Deveau of Florida; his two stepsons: Matthew Bodoni of Massachusetts and Christian P. Crafts, Jr. a brother and sister: George Deveau and Beverly Stanley, both of Massachusetts; his grandson, Tyler Deveau of Fayetteville, NC;  his wife, Christina Deveau of Florida; and a special friend, Barbara Small of Mullins; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.


The family will hold a visitation for Richard, Friday afternoon, October 27, from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.


A memorial service for Richard will follow in the Chapel of Cox-Collins at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Maxie Hardee officiating.

I remember. Richard. When. I was living. In. Mass he was always a joker you could not get mad at him he always had a funny comment to say my condolences go out to the family and his children you will be missed. But never forgotten. God bless
