Not sure what to say?

Dear Diane and family,
Amy recently told me of Dick's passing. I was truly saddened. He was a wonderful gentleman, always kind and attentive to each of us when our families were together during your Chicago days. I learned only later what an enormous impact he had on medicine, CT surgery, and Dayton. I was honored to have known him and you. My family's thoughts and prayers are with you and yours these days. Dear Diane, and Family,
How saddened I was to hear of Dicks passing. He was a remarkable husband, father and friend. I have wonderful memories of time shared with you both in Aspen and Dayton. His accomplishments were many, and yet he was such a humble, gentle man. I remember I was in awe when I saw the picture of him doing a surgery, and the reflection from his glasses showing his hands working on a heart, to save another human being. Life's journey takes us many places, but my time in...

My Mother, Georgialee Trujillo, worked with Dr. DeWall at KMH for many years. She spoke so highly of him and with great respect. She would be so saddened to know he was gone. Please allow me to extend condolences and warm thoughts to the family on her behalf.

Beth,
My deepest sympathy on the death of your father. Cherish your memories of him.

I have very fond memories of working beside Dr. DeWALL in surgery for many years! He was so caring and compassionate to his patients and families. He gave us nurses educational opportunities that we would never have been able to afford! My prayers are with the family at this time.

Dr. DeWALL was a gifted pioneer who contributed significantly to the development of heart surgery. I am greatful that he gave me the opportunity to join his group in Dayton. I offer my condolences to Diane and the family. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

The world suffered a great loss at the passing of Dr. DeWall. I had the privilege of working as a nurse in P.A.C.U. during the years he worked as a surgeon at KMC. He was a wonderful teacher that was always available to teach and encourage us in our care of cardiac patients as well as an excellent mentor to all the many medical students and residents he encountered in his career. He was a perfect gentleman in his communications with staff and family showing such compassion with each and every...

Dr. DeWall was a One of a Kind doctor who was willing to Teach what he knew and discovered. Whether it was in CTCU or PACU you would see him, talk to him and smile with him.
His talent stretched far and wide and for his patients, well, they knew part of the BEST of him. He was multifaceted and was such a Giver not only to his patients but to his family at Kettering. He was that familier face that when you saw him in the hall, you would greet him with a Hi Dr. DeWall and he would smile...
