Richie, Eddie and I were friends in high school. In senior year, Richie and I joined the Marines in the "buddy" system. We went through Paris Island and Camp LeJeune together. We even met in Spain one time when our ships were in the same port.
I left Braintree long ago but we saw each other occasionally over the years and he always talked with pride about his family.
Richie was a quiet, strong, good and decent man. May that comfort you now in your grief.
