Not sure what to say?

I met Father Ducate in July, 1980 when I was bicycling by myself across America as a 19-year old. I was halfway through my 4000-mile journey when I reached St. Joseph, Missouri. It was a Saturday afternoon so I stopped at St. James Church to go to confession, then spoke with Father Ducate to ask if I could set up my tent at the church for the night. He obliged and I spent the night there. In the morning I attended 8 am Mass. Afterwards I was packing my bike and Father came to his balcony...

I met Dick Ducate in the summer of 1951 when we worked together at the Kansas City Board of Trade to earn tuition money for Rockhurst High School. I have admired his work as a priest of the Kansas City-St. Joseph Diocese and took his place one Fall week in St. Joseph Mo so he could take his mother on some vacation time. May God Reard his faithful service as only Goa can do and comfort all of us in the loss of our brother Dick

The two things I will always remember about him are his physical size and the size of his wonderful laughter. He was a serious student of theology which complimented these other two qualities.

He served well the Diocese of Kansas City - St. Jospeh. He held the people of God...
