Not sure what to say?

Hardly seems it´s been so long since we were colleagues. While you were here I always knew my place! I was to keep up the good work at MHHS so that you would never have to come there and teach my derelicts.

Dear Marilyn, I hope this note finds you as well ss you can be. Dick was a significant individual. And so are you and all the others who loved and worked with him. Thanks to you and your family for sharing him with us. Remembering a conversation during his All State gig about his race car/ foreign car driving and testing. Dick was good at much more than inspiring kids to sing.

Dear Marilyn and Family,

I am deeply saddened to have just learned of Richard's (Mr. Eckstein's) passing away. His impact on my life was and remains without question, one of the most significant. I never forgot him and often I still would speak to people about him. He gave me so much and it was/is so much more than the music and teaching that he loved.
Recently I had joined my church choir. It is the first choir since my initial year in college. In practice it is like it was...

To all the family and friends of our wonderful musical director Mr. Eckstein, I was in the choir and chorus and worked on solos, loving every musical minute spent with this fine gentleman. Mr. Eckstein was the epitome of professional and truly loved all his students and bringing music alive in each one of us. Mr. Eckstein will live on in my cherished memories. May he continue to entertain the crowds in Heaven. Most Sincerely, Deepest Condolences,
Terry Larsson Charnet
Graduate MK 1977

My deepest sympathies for the loss of Dick Eckstein. Dick was one of my strongest supporters as a "new" teacher to the NJ Choral Directors world (almost 30 years ago)...always laughing, joking and carrying on. May the memories of his musicality and vitality sustain you all through this difficult time.

Marilyn and family,

My deepest heartfelt sympathies go out to you and your entire family. Dick was a great teacher, friend and golfing buddy. The impact he had on so many people he came in touch with will live on forever. His wit, humor and the many good times we had both at MK and on the golf course will be remembered always.

To the Eckstein Family,

My deepest sympathies are with you at this time. To say that Mr. Eckstein was a great teacher does not nearly do enough justice to the impact he had on me and I know many of my friends at Morris Knolls (class of 1982) who would join the chorus class every day. He made it more than a class. We were a community of young people truly engaged by this man in our love of choir and music in general. He inspired us, challenged us and all the while he made it fun, often...

I am so sorry to hear that Dick passed away. My husband Jim taught with him and daughter Beth {class 82} was in the chorus and Dave{84} was in all the chorus' He was a good role model and they have many happy memories of him.

To Mr. Eckstein family,

My sister called me, whom was also in his choir, to let me know that Mr. Eckstein is now up in Rock & Roll heaven. Oh, how he loved talking about the Beach Boy's harmonys in class. It is because of his love for teaching music to his students at Morris Knolls H.S., that helped everyone learn about the beauty of choir music. He was so into teaching us all how to sing ! The challenge & the degree of difficulty of his songs selection is what made our choir...
