Not sure what to say?

Sheila, Danielle & Ricky - No doubt everything (& more) said about Rick in his obituary were true. Many memories in Raleigh in the mid-60's. Indeed a good friend and roommate in those days.

Lost touch over the years; fortunately reconnected at his home in Wendell 2015-16 or so. Sheila, enjoyed meeting you.

I know you miss him; sorry for your loss!

Sheila, Sorry for your loss! I heard about it from Carl and Brenda. We (brother Bill (Ginnie, my wife Margaret Ann, and I Kenneth) have been in touch with them for several years. We had lost contact with you and Rick after Louis and Fran's anniversary party in AZ. There are so few of us left, we should stay in touch. Love to your family!

Sheila, we lived in the same neighborhood when the family moved to Kingsport, TN in the early 60's. If my memory serves me correctly, he could play a mean xylophone. Through FB it was nice to see your travels and how much he loved to go and do. So sorry for your loss.

Spend many days with Rick and Shiela on cruises. Hard to believe he's gone. We were more like brothers than friends. An occasionial disagreement made us closer. Once told him he was the smartest man I ever met. You only had to be around him for a short time to know that. He will be greatly missed by his cruising friends.

Well Ric, what can I say really. I met you once for I think 4 days on a cruise with David and Betty. You were a refreshing look into someone with the ability to be snobby and yet you were just as down to earth and humble as all the rest of us. I've remarked many times how much I enjoyed your company and your ability to fit in with those less fortunate than yourself. I always wanted to cruise with you again simply because you were so grounded with the common man but I missed that opportunity....

Words cannot express our shock and sadness at Rick's passing, and he will be greatly missed. Our condolences to Shiela and the family. We wish you comfort and peace.

Sheila, such a shock! So sorry, but if it was to be, he was doing what he loved, cruising, with his love, you. You have my deepest sympathy. God bless you!

Sheila and the entire family

Just heartbroken to hear this. Rick was a joy to be around and email with our batch of jokes and comedy of all kinds of events we saw at comical levels. Skiing with the Eilers men and having comradery with them made me feel like the long lost brother. My last back and forth with Rick was of the fun of cruising and his enjoyment of it. My prayers are with all the family and friends and I will miss his spirit of satire we both shared so tremendously.
