Not sure what to say?

Rick Emerson was one of the truly fine human beings that I was lucky to know in high school. Even at 16, 17, 18, his character and values were discernible and admirable. I remember him and Mark Amerman being good trustworthy boys. I was glad to talk to Rick at the reunion (in 2019?). We both mentioned “health scares” that we were coping with. He was one of Belleville’s best.

So sad!

I went all through high school with Rick Emerson and had a great visit with him at our 50th reunion. He was a fine person, from a wonderful family. I will always remember him fondly. Joyce Smith

Rick was the kind of person who made the world a better place for all he met. Our experience with Rick found him to be kind, generous, thoughtful and committed. We admired him and his family from afar. The high character of their children is evidence of the wonderful family Rick and Mindy created. We have many fond memories of our interactions with Rick, Mindy and their family. Our hope is that cherished memories of Rick will sustain The family in this time of loss and grieving.

Dear Mindy, Mike and Chris, We are so sad to hear of Rick´s passing. We have such good memories of him as Scout Leader for Troop 121. He was so positive and enthusiastic and Matt surely enjoyed all those experiences. We appreciate his work on all the drama productions at Lansing Catholic through the years. Those were fun times. We pray that God will enfold you in His arms and give you comfort. Sincerely, Mark and Theresa Piggott

I first met Rick and Mindy walking on Crescent Beach in St. Augustine. He was wearing his MSU apparel and I was wearing my U of M apparel. I spoke to him saying Go Blue, and He and Mindy both said Go Green. We struck up a friendship that lasted for a number years. We golfed together and enjoyed each others company. We got together eating and then having fellowship with our spouses playing golf card games. This was our last winter playing golf with Rick. He faught a good fight and never gave...

I met Rick in 1993 when my sons joined Troop 121 Scouting. The first scout trip we went on was canoeing down the Grand River in Lansing. Rick introduced us to Boy Scout camping life, he was always pleasant and encouraging; had a knack of getting young boys to participate in all aspects of scouting: meetings, trip planning, and a variety of outdoor activities. Our son's enjoyed his leadership and learned a lot of skills towards their ultimate Eagle Scout rank. He had a great personality and...

Mindy and family...you are in our hearts, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Rick was an amazing man with a great sense of humor and a positive attitude. A true and diehard Spartan who bled Green and White. Spartan Nation and the family, friends and neighbors of Rick will miss him dearly. May Rick rest in peace and may Mindy and family find peace and comfort.
