ENNIS, JR.

Richard Grant Ennis, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the age of 68. Born on November 8, 1949 in Galveston, Texas, Richard soon relocated to New Orleans. He was raised by Richard Grant Ennis, Sr. and Ramona Darlington Ennis Schuler. As the first member of his family to graduate college, Richard majored in math and went on to a successful career as a computer programmer. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed everything from dominating his Kenner tennis league to armchair quarterbacking the NFL. But his greatest joy in life was keeping up with his grandchildren. Richard is survived by his two sons (Richard Grant Ennis III & Robert Raymond Ennis), his four grandchildren (Rece Raymond Ennis, Mia Lynn Ennis, Leo Victor Ennis, Oliver Grant Ennis), and six siblings (Roberta Ennis Gomez, Rebecca Ennis Rush, Randall Ennis, Russell Ennis, Patricia Schuler Cox, Karen Schuler). Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 105 Bonnabel Blvd., Metairie on Saturday, August 18th 2018 between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. followed by Mass at 12:00 P.M. My deepest apologies for being unable to attended the services today. I worked with Rick for many years at Standard. He was indeed a fine man with a quick wit and a sharp mind.I do not recall a programing problem he could not solve. I will always remember his love of and skill for tennis and I can only imagine what a wonderful grandfather he was.

My deepest condolences on your loss.

Take care.
