Richard Evers

We will miss seeing Richard on his walks on Abbott and Ames Hill Roads and his visits for vegetables at our farmstand. Richard spoke his mind, and was true to his values about food, the environment and Brattleboro politics. Thank you for your dedication to our community Richard, rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to Richard's family. I got to know Richard initially when he showed up at my door as a census taker, and over the years since then I would run into him in town and we'd always end up having interesting conversations. The last conversation I had with him was about one of his spot-on letters to the editor. I appreciate his humanity and his willingness to speak out about creating a more just society. His passing is a loss to our whole community.

On behalf of the Brattleboro Great Books Discussion Group, of whom Richard was a member from 1992 to 2025, we would like to express our condolences. His death is an utter shock to me! He was so much of a presence during our meetings (some examples of which I will relate...I´m too upset of his passing now). Our community will never be the same. He left it a better place due to his concern for Justice, his interests in music, literature and art. Michael N. Landis

Richard was a great guy, he swam at the pool alongside me. He was such a cheerful man may he rest in peace.

I first met Richard well over 25 years ago when he came on board as a support person (me unexpectedly raising two grandchildren) with our family team. From that time on, we became friends and although we didn´t see each other for a while after, he certainly was a person to recall because of his kindness. In recent months, though, he had reached out to me, and so on many following Sunday mornings, we shared good conversation along with a coffee and half-bagel, his favorite. I will miss...
