Richard Henry FALLON

We will miss Dick along the Sand Point Road in Maine, in particular our chats about the law and Wiittgenstein.

I went to public schools in Augusta, Maine with Dick for 13 years. He was the Valedictorian of our high school and was a leader right from first grade. He was a scholar, an athlete and a good friend. He led an exemplary life and made a huge impact on society.

I was too early to have him as a professor, but I had the honor and pleasure to work with him on cases in Puerto Rico. Every time Dick spoke,I learned something. More than that, he was more patient with me than I deserved. Every time I needed to know about qualified immunity, I went back to Dick and he explained it again, never chastising me for being unable to keep it in my head. Dear Jenny and family, My heart is with you. Dick's passing was so sudden and so very sad to hear. He was a truly remarkable person who will remain forever in my memory. Many years were spent in short but meaningful conversations at the bus stop waiting for buses that sometimes never came or came very late but the conversation and topics were always worth the waiting. Jenny and family, I was SO sorry to hear about Dick´s passing. My heart goes out to all of you. He was just as nice as he was brilliant. Please accept my sincere condolences.
