Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to read in the paper of the passing of Rick. Rick was my quarterback in my final year of high school. It was a good quarterback and a friend. I had lost contact with the Farrell family over the years until about 20 or so years ago, I had done some work for Michael Kittridge ( of Yankee candle ) in Florida and I was to fly back from Florida to Westfield in his private jet. Lo and behold as I approach the jet I was greeted by Rick the pilot. We talked all the way back to Westfield...

Ricky Farrell, what a great guy, so sorry to see that he has passed. I grew up in the same era as Rick. As youngsters we played against each other in Little League , he played for Coca-Cola, I played for the Elks. n Babe Ruth League he played for Trico, I played for Hotel Northampton. Rick was the "Sandy Koufax" of that era. His fastball was so fast the only time I ever saw the ball was while the catcher was returning it to him. I know I never got a hit off of him, as well as many other...

I had the opportunity of being the catcher on Ricky´s Northampton High School Baseball team. His fastball came in like a jet then.

To Kathy, Children, and Family, I was very sad to read that Rick has passed. How many times during the years did we meet in the neighborhood while you both were walking and we stopped to chat, usually near Stanley Park. My memory is that we all first met at Cross Street during Little League season. Your Tim and my Rob were playing on the same team. We were state champions, as I recall, an exciting ride for the kids and parents! I vividly remember one game when Rick could not attend,...

To Rick´s family , so sorry for your loss. What a life you were able to share in. I knew Ricky starting in Grammar school through High School. He was a quiet, kind, and wonderful guy.A friend to many. It was fun to watch him play sports, especially baseball. After graduating from high school I didn´t hear much about him. But now after reading his obituary, what a life he had. Thank you for your service. What a legacy. Your family must be so proud. I am happy as a Florence kid to have known...
