Richard Stephen Felger

I am so sad to hear that Richard has passed. I met him a few times in Baja California, once in the Sierra de la Laguna and in conference meetings in Ensenada where he and I took a little impromptu field trip on the hill behind the facilities. He was very kind to me and he had a continuously curious mind and wonderful sharp wit. One would never know he was such an accomplished and famous scientist.

I only just learned of Richard´s death so wanted to send belated sad condolences to Silke on behalf of myself and my own Ann (who passed in 2017) who was his close friend for so many years -love, Andy

Richard was a terrific friend, scholar, host and story-teller. There are a lot of people who'd not be where they are if not for Richard's influence and advice, and not just in the fields of botany or zoology. He will be missed but I am grateful for the impact he had on my life.
