Read MoreDean and Di, so sorry to hear about the loss of Dick. I remember him well from Baker Lake, especially his hitting the golf ball across the creek, and playing bridge. He also taught me the trick of putting a little baking powder in omelets to make them fluffier. We will miss him.

Favorite memories of Dick:
-Seeing his slides---he had a consistently impressive sense of composition.
-Taking a ride with him once on the locomotive, which he finessed with love.
-Watching him sit in my living room with my toddler son on his lap, delightedly (as with so many other things he did) reading Robert a book---I'm sure it was about trains.
Ride those ribbons of steel in the sky, Dick!
