RICHARD FIERSTEIN

Richie was a one of a kind friend. I met him from the neighborhood. We played stickball and touch football together. A bunch of us would go to the luncheonette for burgers and cokes. From the beginning he always had the gift of gab. He could talk us into doing anything. His laugh was contagious and everyone liked him. We shared many adventures together, adventures that cannot be written down on these pages. Richie, you will always be loved and never forgotten.

Today we “met” other sides of the multi-faceted, hands-on, larger-than-life Richie Fierstein; most unfortunately introduced to us by way of eulogies; eloquently prepared and faultlessly delivered by his children, grandchildren and granddaughter.

Richie empowered those around him with his Frank Sinatra-style “My Way,” “can-do,” life-appreciating, resounding attitude.

This powerhouse of a man will be sorely missed, as his untimely death created a void for so many in so many...
