Not sure what to say?

Dear Fitch Family,
I had the great privilege of going on one of Dicks north by Southwest canoe trips to Canada. It was one of the most transformative experiences of my young life. We spent nearly a month camping, canoeing portaging and enjoying nature. I will never forget my time with Dick Fitch. He was a wonderful person and Im sure you all miss him great.

It is a privilege to have known this wonderful guy. We shared a passion for maps, travel, and tall tales from the bush. One of my most treasured possessions is a thank you gift he made up and presented to me--a certificate good for one cheeseburger at the Bobcat Bite. I could never bear to use it. So long amigo. You made a such a difference.

Sounds like a great life!

I remember Mr. Fitch with fondness as my 8th-grade biology teacher at Santa Fe Prep. Years later, working at a historical society in the Southwest, I would smile to see his name in various sources as an expert in antiquarian maps. My condolences to his family.

My memories of Mr. Fitch are from my time at Harvey Jr. High. His enthusiasm in science class led to my interests in science, as well as other subjects. He showed us that there are so many things in this world to be interested in and study about. He was strict but always encourage us to do more, learn more. Thank you Mr. Fitch.

Another Adventure Awaits

I'll always remember Mr. Fitch with his SLR camera at SFHS wrestling matches in the late '70s and his beaming pride for his son Charlie, a formidable wrestler who kept himself in excellent shape. "Look at him, there's not an ounce of fat on him." Richard once exclaimed while pointing at Charlie. Of course, there was always the bus the Fitch family kept stocked at the ready and used for their annual traveling adventures that were the envy of all we sedentary folks. Vaya con Dios señor Fitch,...
