Not sure what to say?

It has been seven years since Dick left us and I can honestly say that I have thought about him every day since. His memory lives with me and I think about him every time I hear Jazz being played or use a woodworking tool or sip a Diet Coke or any time my mind wanders to events from the 62 years I was close friends with him.

Dear Jennifer and Will, Our hearts go out to you at this difficult time. Tom and I both loved Dick and considered him a good and loyal friend. He was a man of many talents and one of the most interesting people we have ever known. Some of our best memories of our youth in Manhattan Beach involve Dick and the rest of the "Beach Creatures". No one was a better listener than Dick. He will be greatly missed and thought of often. God bless you. Tom and Kass DuRoss

I'm another one of Dick's many childhood buddies. I attended Junior High and High School with him, and I can assure you that the twinkle in his eyes, his mammoth sense of humor, and his keen intellect were all well developed, even way back then! I hope his family can find solace in the impact that he made on so many lives.

Jennifer, I am heartbroken to hear of your loss. My deepest sympathies, Kimberly Kirby

"Dick" as i called him was one of those guys you could never say anything bad about. Quite an accomplishment! I'm sure that as he progressed in life he had that impact on all who got know him.

Jennifer and Will- We were so blessed to have Jen as our son's tutor. A chance call that brought into our lives so much positive and warmth. Grateful to have met Richard. His twinkly eyes, even under those circumstances, held the same warmth, humor and light. That you both helped so many families through your tutoring work is amazing and appreciated. Love, peace and hugs from the Barrett family

Dick has been my friend since kindergarten; we grew up together. He had degrees in engineering and law, but his doctorates were in kindness, caring, humor, loyalty and friendship. It hurts bad to know he's gone.

Richard was my best friend and was Best Man at my wedding 39 years ago. I knew him since kindergarten. We grew up watching movies, listening to jazz, trying out new restaurants, playing sports and card games, and talking about life. I will miss him forever. His memory will live on in those who knew him.

May he rest in peace. I was a coworker of his at Lowes and there was not a moment I did not see him just as the above picture; with a big smile on his face. I have no doubt he will be missed by all who have ever known him....
