Fry, Richard Richard Fry, FAIA 1937- 2020 Not knowing it was his last week on earth, Richard Fry, FAIA, spent it doing many of his favorite things...he attended the reunion of former Michigan basketball players and watched his beloved team beat Indiana, he talked to distant kids and grandchildren...

Not sure what to say?

I was reminiscing about my time as an architecture student at U of M, and came across Richard Fry's obituary. So sorry to hear of his death. Dick hired me when I was a graduate student (1983-85). I really enjoyed working in his architecture office. He was such a nice generous man who enjoyed life. Few like him. His moustache was much longer then!

To Judy and the Fry family, my deepest condolences.

I spent many a fun lunch sitting across the Common Grill bar from Dick and his architect friends. Leo Legatski and I looked forward to his quick smile, latest joke and often a silly hat. Dick's love of life will be greatly missed but can be a blueprint for how to live your life. I especially enjoyed reading about Dick's last week of life. Good for him...I hope to do the same!

May the warm memories of his life comfort you...

Very sorry to read this. I'm sure I'm not alone when I write that Dick told me the best joke I ever heard. Also one not repeatable here. Sincere condolences to Judy. Rest well, Dick I'm going to continue my day thinking of you entertaining those above!

Very sorry to read this. I'm sure I'm not alone when I write that Dick told me the best joke I ever heard. Also one that can't be repeated here. He was a rare bird and left an unmatched impression on those he met! Sincere condolences to Judy. I'm going to continue my day thinking of Dick laughing as he entertains those above!

Dick will be missed...Ann Arbor will miss him...Knight's will miss him, we all will miss him, may he rest in peace....

I am so sorry to hear that Dick passed. I've not lived in Michigan for 11 years so am out of touch with many people.
I send my heartfelt condolences to the entire family. I'm so sorry for your loss!

I'm very sorry to read about Dick's passing. He and Judy always seemed to be very happy and friendly. He was a great human being and will be missed. My condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to Judy and the entire extended Fry family at this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Jon Crane

You will me missed but never forgotten.

RIP good man.
