Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

GEISENHAVER, RICHARD– Of Swartz Creek, age 89, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Symphony of Linden. 


Funeral mass will be at 11 am on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 North Adelaide Street, Fenton. Father Harvey officiating. Livestream link below

Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation will also be at 10 am Thursday till the time of mass at the church. 


Burial will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. 


Richard was born in Detroit Michigan, on March 31, 1936, the son of the late Nicholas and Evelyn (Hardy) Geisenhaver.


Richard married Mary Lenore Tyckoski on May 17, 1969, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. 


Richard graduated from Kearsley High School in 1956, after high school he was drafted into the Army. Following the army Richard worked for General Motors for over 30 years. 


The Knights of Columbus was something he was truly passionate about and has been an active member for many years. Richards greatest accomplishments were his four children and his grandchildren.   


Surviving are his children, Matt Geisenhaver, Randy Geisenhaver, Angela Prieur and Tom Derosier, Rebecca (Ray) Kondel; grandchildren, Jade, Gabe (Diana) Prieur, Emilia, Lenore, Jeanette; great-grandchildren Ronin and Reign, and brother Lee (Judy) Geisenhaver; niece Sue Byrnes-Abel. 


He was preceded in death by his wife,  Mary Lenore Geisenhaver and brother, Nicholas Geisenhaver.
