Mr. Gerding has been around my entire life! At the Tansey firm all through my elementary years until everyone in the firm split upon Mr. Tansey's retirement and he an my Dad started their own firm together, until their mutual retirement in 2019. I will always remember his quick wit, warm smile and genuine care for the people who were fortunate to know him on a personal level. I'll also remember the awesome Christmas parties he and Eileen threw at their home during my childhood. ...

Richard was a true gentleman and an extremely fine lawyer -- considered to be the patriarch of the legal community. He will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers for his loved-ones.

I remember "short sheeting" his bed in Albuquerque at a motel. I helped the girls softball team have fun. Chris, his daughter and my daughter were included. Fun memories of a great man. Praying for the family
