GILLETTE, Richard ? Of Holly, age 78, died Thursday, July 31, 2014.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Brian Highway officiating.

Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.

Visitation 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Richard was born in Flint, Michigan on November 28, 1935, the son of Evelyn and Harry Gillette.

On October 12, 1957, he married Carol Stone and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2013.

Surviving are children, Richard (Connie) and Jennifer Bentley;

10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren;

one sister; two brothers;

many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Teresa Highway and granddaughter, Amy Bentley.

Mr and Mrs Gillette were wonderful people. I knew them my whole life, they were my neighbors.Mr Gillette was a interesting and very comical man.The stories he would tell me, and his laugh was contagious. I would go visit Mrs Gillette a couple times a week, when Mr Gillette had to go in a nursing home. I would take my dog over to play with her dog cj.
