Dr. Richard A. Gleckman

I was personally selected by Dr. Gleckman to be his Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at the Carney Hospital in Dorchester, Mass. He never waivered in his support of my education and in my decisions as chief. He was fatherly to me and he died on my father's birthday. I felt especially connected to him for all the chances he gave me, against the odds. I learned today of Dicks passing. I was an ID Fellow in the 1970's when he was affiliated with BU and the VA in Boston. He was a highly dedicated teacher and always had a youthful charisma.He often spoke wonderfully of his family and I'm sure he will be missed.
