Richard C. Granger

I was one of those fortunate students who had Mr. Granger as a 4th grade teacher back in 1967. He taught me how to play chess. We had a tournament that year. I went on to teach the game to four of my siblings. He was a wonderful teacher and role model. I will remember him always. My deepest sympathy to you.

My deepest sympathy to Dick's family, We were both teachers at Robert's School for many years.I aiways enjoyed his company. He was a good guy to work with.

Donald Borchardt

I had Mr. Granger as a teacher in the 1970's at Roberts Elementary School. He was an incredible teacher, always respectful and supportive of his students. He taught me so much and instilled a life-long love of chess that still prevails. I remember beating him one afternoon at chess, and the next morning I found a handmade badge in the shape of a bishop on my desk that read, I beat Mr. Granger. As I look back, it was obvious he loved his job and the children he taught. What a wonderful man

As we get ready to say our last goodbyes to my uncle, I will forever remember the trips across the United States that he so generously offered to his nieces and nephews. The trips were always full of educational moments. Without these trips I would not have gotten farther than Manitowoc county! Thank you uncle Dick for the wonderful memories!! God bless.

Mr. Granger was a GREAT teacher and chess teacher as well. I had him for homeroom in 6th grade back in the 70's. He was well liked and it was great that he taught us all how to play chess. One of my memories was when we played chess with his brother thru the mail. He would share his mail or his brother's chess move.
